Web Design PDF

Web Design is so very often misunderstood as being something that could cost a person many thousands of pounds. This simply isn't the case.

Web design can be not only be affordable but lso highly valuable for you as an individual or even for your business. We approach each website with a blank template and work from there. We look at many areas in order to get a better understanding of what it is you would need. The process is typically broken into phases;

Phase 1

This phase is all about understanding what you do as a business (if for a business) or what you as an individual would like the website to be about. It is crucial to us that we understand your aim and what you wish to accomplish by using the website. This will allow us to purposely design a website for you enabling you to do exactly what you were looking for.

Phase 2

In phase 2 we take away the notes created as part fo the first phase and design a mock up. The mock up is merely for a visual and graphical look to your site. The reason for the mock up is that it is far easier to change something graphically whilst as an image than once it is built into a website already. Due to the way we create graphical images and build the websites we can tweak every last pixel you see within the image.
Once you have approved the mock up design in phase 2 it would be time for us to move onto phase 3.

Phase 3

Phase 3 is all about the coding of your new website. As part of this phase it is not unusual for us to sometimes work until 2 int he morning, but hey ;) we are dedicated :) . This phase is typically the longest and hardest of all. As there are many elements that influence not only the look of the website but also the workings. It is not unknown for a website to be created in as many as 4 languages (not as we know them eg English, French etc, but like HTML, PHP, JS etc), and so when a problem occurs it is often a case of locating the cause of the problem before being able to cure it.

Phase 4

Phase 4 is a crucial stage for you as well as your website in the terms that your content now will determine how popular your website will be and how many people will keep coming back. Obviously if you have a portfolio page for a company the content is only relevant when someone is looking for your details specifically or looking for a company to undertake work and your website then becomes a portfolio.

So as part of phase 4 we would in the first instance train you on how to use your new website and how to add, edit and delete content. The process by which you would do this will all depend on what kind of website you have chosen. Once you have got the knowledge in how to use your new website we need to determine the content for it. So discussing key selling points (key points that would make your information stand out over anyone elses) and the style fo the content would be next on the agenda.

Phase 5

Once you have added content to your website (and in the interests of getting people to come back this needs to be continously updated) we would look at equipping you with the necessary tools to monitor traffic (visitors) to your website and their behaviours. We would also Optimize your website for Search Engines (known in our field as SEO) identifying key words related directly to your website and the content which it holds. Remember, no-one gets fantastic google rankings over night.
